Working principle:

The working principle of the flat plate collector is different from that of the vacuum tube collector. Glass flat panel solar collectors consist of a shallow rectangular box with a black flat panel behind a tempered glass cover. The plate is connected to a series of parallel pipes or a serpentine through which water or another liquid, such as an antifreeze solution, passes. Sunlight passes through the glass and hits the absorber panels, which heat up and convert the sunlight into heat. Heat is transferred to the liquid through pipes connected to the absorbing plate.
