It is applicable to the determination of viscosity of a certain coating materials of which the flow time determined by it is under 150s.

Usage and Maintenance

a)Clean the cup with suitable solvent each time before using, then dry it. Facing light, observe the leaking nozzle that it should be clean.

b)Adjust horizontal screw, make the end face of flow cup level.

c)Place the container under the leaking nozzle, block leaking nozzle by a hand, slowly pour sample into the flow cup so as to avoid bubble. Using flat glass plate, slide and push along upper edge, scrape bubble and surplus sample. Loosen finger, make sample flow and start stopwatch immediately. When sample flow first break off, stop stopwatch. All the time of sample flowing out of cup is conditional viscosity of sample. The error of two testing value should be less than 3% of the average value.


d)If using calibrated cup as standard cup, it should multiply correction factor (K) value of calibrating error of flow time.

e)When testing sample temperature is 25℃±0.5℃, it should be tested under thermostatic chamber. If the test is not done under thermostatic chamber, the thermometer should be put in the sample flow, indicating the difference of keeping temperature and the temperature before flowing which is not over 0.5℃.

f)After testing, wipe and clean the cup with solvent, coated with anti-rust oil. When wiping, any hard and sharp metal object is not allowed to use so as to prevent injuring surface. We recommend that you return your flow cup to our company for correction in accordance with the specification of National Standard GB/T1723-93.
