Maintaining Lithium Batteries for Mining Electric Locomotives
Lithium batteries are the lifeblood of modern mining electric locomotives, providing the energy required for efficient and reliable operations deep within the mines. Proper maintenance of these batteries is essential to ensure they deliver their full potential and longevity. Here are some crucial steps to maintain lithium batteries in mining electric locomotives:
1. Initial Charging for Maximum Capacity
Before putting lithium batteries to work, it's essential to fully charge them. This initial charge helps condition the battery and ensures it reaches its maximum capacity potential. After the first full charge, the battery will gradually optimize its capacity over the course of 1-2 full charge and discharge cycles.
2. Timely Recharging to Prolong Battery Life
Lithium batteries should never be allowed to run too low on charge. Recharging them promptly is key to extending their lifespan. Allowing the battery to remain in a deeply discharged state for an extended period can harm its overall health. If the batteries need to be stored for an extended duration, it's advisable to recharge them to approximately 50-70% of their capacity every month to maintain their optimal state.
3. Load Management During Startup
When starting up electric equipment, it's essential to ensure that any rear-end loads are in the off position. After initiating the power source, gradually introduce the rear-end loads, or employ auxiliary starting methods to reduce the initial current surge. This practice minimizes the strain on the batteries during startup, contributing to prolonged battery cycle life, improved electrical performance, and an extended operational life.
4. Safe Charging Environment
During the charging process, lithium batteries should be placed in an environment with a temperature range of 0°C to 35°C, characterized by adequate ventilation and dry conditions. It's crucial to avoid proximity to open flames or flammable materials. While charging, ensure that the load (electric equipment) is disconnected to minimize potential risks.

7. Proving factory online-visiting
Mining Locomotive test
1.Before Running the locomotive,carry out gear debugging, lighting, gear, and brake adjustment etc.To ensure the normal operation of the locomotive.
2.Carry out a tensile test before leaving the factory to ensure the load performance of the locomotive meets the standard. Our design standards generally exceed the national standard by 10%-20%.
3.Carry out different type running test before leaving the factory to ensure the performance and normal operation of the whole locomotive. It can adapt to various harsh conditions under simulated working conditions.
Motor test
The motor has to go through many inspection procedures before leaving the factory, and each motor has to be carried out with load running experiments.
Explosion-proof motors are carried out with water pressure test.
