That is, the mud cleaner consists of a two-stage separation process that operates as a unit using a combination of hydrocyclones mounted on a shaker screen. Drill cuttings cleaners are designed to treat the entire circulation volume and are effective on both weighted and unweighted drilling fluid systems, effectively removing and drying solids while retaining expensive fluids. Hydrocyclones (desander and desilter) perform the primary separation and the underflow is directed to the shaker screen. Proper use of drilling mud cleaners can reduce drilling fluid and disposal costs.
