Working principle of PSA cylinder filling oxygen generator
The principle of pressure swing adsorption (PSA) oxygen generator is adsorption and desorption.
Each gas has its characteristic adsorption rate when adsorbed by zeolite molecular sieves (ZMS). ZMS has a large surface area and contains a large number of micropores and channels. Nitrogen has a higher adsorption rate than oxygen. When compressed air enters the ZMS, oxygen molecules are able to pass through this large surface, while nitrogen molecules are adsorbed to the surface area. Adsorption and diffusion are general principles of PSA systems, as each gas has a characteristic adsorption rate that is a function of its ability to be adsorbed by the molecular sieve. The adsorption process can produce a series of gases with a purity of more than 90% oxygen. Oxygen is then charged into the cylinder through a booster.
