ZXR10 5900E Series MPLS Easy Maintenance Switches are box-type Layer 3 MPLS routing switches that provide superior integrated network services for space-constrained environments in service provider networks. It can be used as an aggregation switch in various scenarios such as MAN, FTTX, and IP RAN.

 

ZXR10 5900E adopts European standard hardware architecture, the most advanced software platform, the industry's first "easy maintenance" design concept, and industry-leading MPLS capability. It is a milestone switch launched by ZTE. With the ZXR10 5900E, you can build a highly reliable, secure and scalable network while ensuring an excellent user experience.

The ZXR10 5900E is available in the following switch types: 5916E, 5928E, 5928E-FI, and 5952E. The interface offerings for these switches are listed below:

Modular Design Brings Scalability

  • ZXR10 5952E can provide users with extremely flexible electrical/optical interface combinations:
  • 5952E is a switch with a height of 2U, and its 4 sub-card slots can be inserted with 8*GE RJ45 cards or 8*GE SFP cards;
  • The 5900E supports dual modular power supplies, while the 5952E also supports field-replaceable fan trays.
  • The modular design brings ultimate flexibility for users to control investment and continuously upgrade the network.

 

Full Service Support

  • ZXR10 5900E supports a variety of VLAN features, including Port-based VLAN, Subnet VLAN, Protocol-based VLAN, Selective QinQ, and VLAN translation, to separate/distinguish different services of different users.
  • Multicast-based technologies such as IPTV are important profitable services for service providers. ZXR10 5900E fully supports L2/L3 multicast, including IGMP snooping, filtering, proxy and Fastleave, MVR (Multicast VLAN Registration) and PIM-SM to facilitate the deployment of these services.
  • By implementing IPTV control, operators can apply different CAC (Channel Access Control) rules to channel package users.
  • Voice VLAN provides higher forwarding priority for voice packets. When detecting the access of a voice device, ZXR10 5900E will transfer the legal voice data to the designated voice VLAN, and assign a higher priority to ensure forwarding, regardless of the default priority of the voice data stream it sends.
  • ZXR10 5900E fully supports MPLS L2/L3 VPN technology, providing an economical and reliable VPN solution for commercial use.
  • ZXR10 5900E also supports MCE, which can run multiple VPN instances without running MPLS, reducing the pressure on PE (provider edge) devices.

 

Clock synchronization

ZXR10 5928E/5928E-FI supports the following clock synchronization modes:

They provide BITS external clock input/output interfaces, GPS input and GPS output interfaces, and also support synchronous Ethernet interface services.

 

It also supports 1588v2 precise time synchronization mode; 5900E can be used as a common clock boundary clock and a transparent clock, and the 1588v2 algorithm can be implemented with 1-step method or 2-step method.

When multiple clock sources are available, you can configure the clock source with the best quality as the main clock source, and other clock sources as the backup of the main clock source.

 

It is generally recommended to use Synchronous Ethernet for frequency synchronization and 1588v2 for phase synchronization.

 

PPPoE+ and VBAS

  • PPPoE+ and VBAS (Virtual Broadband Access Server) are two very useful measures for providing user line identification means in the user access network.

ZXR10 5900E series switches support the realization, allocation, registration and transfer of VLAN attributes in dynamic GVRP mode, which can simplify VLAN configuration management and reduce network interconnection problems caused by inconsistent configuration.
  • Thanks to the 220mm depth of the ZXR10 5900E, users need very little space to install the switch. All hardware components including the power supply, all access and uplink ports, and fan modules (only 5952E supports replaceable fan modules) adopt a front-plug design to facilitate switch management in space-constrained environments.
  • Innovative M-Button function, when there is a problem in the network, the administrator can obtain important device information by reading the interface indicator, including port/memory/CPU status, and realize instant troubleshooting, thereby reducing the network scale to the greatest extent OPEX time.   • ZXR10 5900E applies the latest energy-saving technology, such as dynamically adjusting port power according to cable length.

  • ZXR10 5900E supports multiple mechanisms to ensure network security:
  • The CPU DDOS protection capability helps devices mitigate the impact of attacks. The device itself will not go down, ensuring network stability.
  • DAI (Dynamic ARP Inspection) function and IP/MAC binding help prevent DOS (Denial of Service) attacks.
