Non-automatic bilge pumps offer conventional operation activated by a float or panel switch. The filter and impeller can be easily cleaned by removing the motor cartridge in the event that the pump is clogged with debris. Electric submersible pumps are by far the most popular type of electric bilge pump, submersibles provide very high output and are cost effective, have low current consumption and are easy to install. They are designed to be installed in the lowest part of the bilge and only require discharge piping and power supply.
