Given this scenario, a group of small farmers founded the Languiru Cooperative on November 13, 1955, in the then municipality of Estrela, nowadays the municipality of Teutonia, in Rio Grande do Sul. Most of the European immigrants were from Germany. principal activity is the exploitation of crops and the raising of poultry, pigs and dairy cattle. The purpose of the farm was to support the family and any leftovers were traded to small commercial houses that, in turn, provided food and supplies not available on the properties.
