describe:gear hob
A hob is a gear machining tool whose teeth are arranged in a cylindrical or conical helix. It is used to process cylindrical workpieces with teeth such as cylindrical gears and worm gears according to the generation method. During processing, the hob is equivalent to a helical gear with a large bevel, and its number of teeth is the number of heads of the hob. The workpiece is equivalent to another helical gear.
